Choosing the grade
Water, steam and outdoor weather with no oil: EPDM.
Oil and fuel: nitrile (NBR). Heat plus oil or fuel: Viton (FKM).
A bit of both, or a need for flame and weather resistance: neoprene is usually the sensible middle.
Questions
Which rubber gasket for a water pipeline flange?
EPDM is the usual choice for water and outdoor service. Avoid it where mineral oil is present, because EPDM swells in oil.
Can you make full-face gaskets with bolt holes?
Yes. Send the drawing or the flange size and bolt pattern and we cut the bolt holes in the same operation.
