Choosing the grade
Graphite handles high temperatures and conforms well to imperfect flange faces.
It is soft, so handle and store cut gaskets flat; ask us about reinforced grades for higher pressures.
Tell us the medium, temperature and pressure so we can suggest a grade and thickness.
Questions
When is graphite better than non-asbestos sheet?
At higher temperatures, and where the flange faces are not perfect, because graphite conforms to the surface. Non-asbestos sheet is the economical choice for moderate temperatures.
