Read to the end of a purchase order. This month one of ours had a line near the bottom asking for a mill test certificate with the delivery.
That line decides when we get paid. Without the certificate, their stores can receive the parts and their quality team can pass them, and the invoice still sits, because accounts will not release payment against material that arrived without its papers.
For a die cut part the certificate comes from whoever made the sheet, not from us. So it has to be asked for when the sheet is bought, not when the parts are being packed. Asking a mill for it weeks later, for a batch they have long forgotten, is a slow and awkward phone call.
We read the last page of a PO before we read the price now. It is where the conditions that cost money usually live.
